Terms of Service — App Monitor

Overview

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the App Monitor mobile application (the "App") provided by us ("we", "our", or "us").

By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please uninstall the App.

1. License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes on Android devices you own or control, subject to these Terms.

2. What the App Does

App Monitor reads on-device app usage data provided by the Android operating system to help you track and limit your screen time. It does not modify, interfere with, or report on any other app's data or behavior beyond what Android's UsageStatsManager API exposes.

3. Required Permissions

The App requires the Usage Access permission (a special Android permission granted in Settings) to function. By granting this permission, you authorize the App to read per-app usage duration data stored by Android. You can revoke this permission at any time in Android Settings, which will disable the App's core functionality.

4. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

Use the App only for lawful personal purposes
Not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App
Not use the App to monitor another person's device without their explicit consent

5. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, and trademarks in the App are our property or that of our licensors.

Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights in our intellectual property except the limited license in Section 1.

6. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:

The App will be uninterrupted or error-free
App usage data read from Android will be perfectly accurate (accuracy depends on Android's own reporting)
The blocking feature will prevent all access to limited apps in every scenario (e.g., certain system apps or launchers may behave unexpectedly)

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) the App, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App (which is zero if you downloaded it for free).

8. Changes to the App or Terms

We may update the App or these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes to the Terms constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We will update the "Last updated" date accordingly.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your license to use the App if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
